Guidance Note – Information provided to the Commissioner under section 29(5) – This information is part of the rules of your association and must be attached to the copy of the rules provided to members.
The information provided to the Commissioner should be inserted here:
A. The name of the Association is: the Ghana Association of Western Australia
B. The objects of the Association are: a. to provide support for members of the Association where necessary and possible; b. keep the community and interested partners informed about issues and events in WA concerning Ghanaians; c. to assist new Ghanaian migrants in WA to settle in Australia where necessary and possible; d. to raise funds to complete projects as agreed upon by the Association; e. to encourage and teach interested members about Ghanaian traditions and culture; f. to be non-political and non-religious in its operations.
C. Five percent or more of members personally present (being members entitled to vote under these rules at a general meeting) will constitute a quorum for the conduct of business at a general meeting.
D. Fifty percent of committee members constitute a quorum for the conduct of the business of a committee meeting.
E. The association’s financial year will be the period of 12 months commencing on 1 July and ending on 30 June of each year
